Day 1: Land & Launch
Flights usually arrive early—like 6:00 AM early. We’ll shake off the jet lag with a morning snorkel between tectonic plates in the Silfra fissure (yes, it’s otherworldly cold and totally worth it), followed by fresh rye bread baked in the ground and a loop around the Golden Circle.
This day hits fast—and it sets the tone.
Day 2: South Coast + Glacier Hike
Waterfalls that will make your chest ache, black sand beaches, and then crampons on—we’re hiking a glacier. You’ll feel small in the best way.
Day 3: Glacier Lagoon & Diamond Beach
Jökulsárlón lagoon is unreal—icebergs floating, seals watching. Then we’ll walk Diamond Beach, where ice chunks shine against volcanic sand. It’s like walking through a dream you forgot you had.
Day 4: Eastfjords + Hengifoss Hike
This is where Iceland gets wild and remote. We’ll wind through the fjords, hike to the red-striped Hengifoss waterfall, and maybe catch puffins doing their weird little waddle along the cliffs at sunset.
Day 5: The North Awakens
Dettifoss—Europe’s most powerful waterfall—roars us into the day. Then we move into the Mars-like geothermal zone of Námafjall and soak it all off in the Mývatn nature baths. Evening in Akureyri, Iceland’s chill northern city.
Day 6: Whale Watching in the North
Húsavík is the whale-watching capital of Iceland. We’ll hit the sea, spot something massive, and then decompress with dinner and small-town vibes. Bring layers. And your patience.
Day 7: Snæfellsnes & Back to Reykjavík
Final road trip stretch. We’ll hit the Snæfellsnes Peninsula—often called “Iceland in Miniature”—with lava fields, coastlines, and the legendary Snæfellsjökull glacier.
We land back in Reykjavík in the afternoon to shop, chill, or just reflect before tomorrow’s flight.
Day 8: Departure
Airport shuttles and soft goodbyes. Group is responsible for their own transfer to Keflavík airport (very easy to book). You’ll leave windblown, recharged, and probably planning your next trip.
